In an attempt to combine the powerful functionalities of the PC and the TV, AOL and Intel Corp have launched the AOL Video service for Intel Viiv-based PCs, dubbed the "AOL Video 10-foot experience."
The "AOL Video 10-foot experience" aims at delivering AOL Video's popular online library comprising premium movies, full-length TV shows, music videos, concerts, sports videos, etc, to Intel Viiv-based PCs. Movies and videos can be subsequently viewed on a large screen television. A large part of this programming is free, with several videos available in DVD quality through AOL's Hi-Q format.
The new service includes over 45 channels of on-demand video programming, featuring original, licensed, and branded content; downloadable movies from major studios, ranging from recent DVD releases to older movies; and AOL's exhaustive video search index containing hundreds of millions of videos from across the Web.
