Block That Defense
Why do top executives have difficulty receiving and responding to constructive criticism? Because so many highfliers have received little criticism in their careers. The result is that when receiving criticism, the highest-performing employees in an organization are the ones most likely to become defensive--to screen out criticism and place the blame on anyone and everyone but themselves. Although getting highfliers to take in and respond to honest feedback can be tough, it's not impossible. Or is it?

Even in personal life, I've seen people running away and shirking criticism - esp negative criticism. Sometimes me too... but I do sit back and think about it later and make it a point to work on the same once I realise that whatever is said - positive / negative has a meaning.... after all - we thrive on inputs not just from within ourselves, but from the awesome people who interact with us everyday, every hour, every moment :)
Its just timing - when and where to say a certain thing – ah! of course! If we knew “every single tactic” and secrets to win people’s hearts , then wouldn’t; everyone be same!
We all are here to make mistakes, learn from them – every single person learning at a different pace – all trying to fit into that circle of perfection - the need is to be compassionate enough to “let” the people around you understand and grow –its more easier said than done though! And is easier in personal relations (if at all the receiver and transmitter are at same frequency with certain tolerance levels taken care off :D) than the professional ones (which is simply give-n –take or perhaps “take – or rather snatch away!!”)
It’s the timing and difference which excites – and its lovely when people understand what you once told them, conveyed to them – that’s the best compliment :)
Ok! Now me being back to the alluring galaxies… can u imagine the lovely people/ souls around like d shining stars….. all happy in their comfort zones… trying to beautify the universe with the twinkle of the awesome light and aura that emits from them?
